How to Surf Anonymous & Use Socks4 | Using Any Application With Proxies !

Hey guys i have been asked to write a tutorial on how to stay anonymous online and possibly bypass filters and surf the Internet. so i have decided to write a detailed tutorial. I’m going to use the software called ‘Proxifier‘ for this job. and some public socks for demonstration. Please DO NOT USE this tutorial for malicious purposes.

Whats a Proxy ?
In computer networks, a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application program) which services the requests of its clients by forwarding requests to other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource, available from a different server. The proxy server provides the resource by connecting to the specified server and requesting the service on behalf of the client. A proxy server may optionally alter the client’s request or the server’s response, and sometimes it may serve the request without contacting the specified server. – Source – Wiki

Whats Proxifier ?
Proxifier is a program that allows network applications that do not support working through proxy servers to operate through an HTTPS or SOCKS proxy or a chain of proxy servers.

There are many network applications that do not support working through proxy servers and thus cannot be used behind a LAN or firewall(s). These can compromise corporate privacy and lead you to many other restrictions. Proxifier solves all of these problems and gives you the opportunity to work with your favorite software without any restrictions. Additionally, it lets you gain extra control over network security, create a proxy tunnel and add more power to network functionality. the best thing about this program is this can be used to proxify any program that does not have a proxy option built in.

Now as you already have some basic knowledge about socks lets go ahead and see how we can find and use them.

you can basically find public socks. which are normally very slow. but in order to get fast & private socks there are other ways. they are not always legal. or you can buy them.

In this tutorial I’m going to use public socks4 and proxifier application. lets move on

First Download and install Proxifier (http://www.proxifier.com) you need to purchase a license.

After installing launch the application and now you can see the main interface.

Ok now lets go and set our default browser to work with the Proxifier. go to options –> Proxification Rules and select ‘Process only the following + manually proxified‘ then Click Add. now locate the application you want to proxify (in this case we are using our browser Internet Explorer) so now once you add it you will see something like this

Now Click Add

Now Again Click Add Under Application

Now Locate the iexplorer.exe

Now we have set the proxifier to work when the iexplorer.exe is launched. now lets go and add socks4.

Where to find socks4 ?

You can find socks4 in lot of sites for free. just Google them. A Good site is

I’m going to use a socks4 from this site

Ok now we know the IP is 82.205.185.36 and port is 1080

Lets go back to proxifier now. go to Options —> Proxy Settings.

Now Click Add and you will see this box

In Address put the IP (the ip you got from the site above) and port (82.205.185.36:1080) Select Socks4 and Check Use Socks4A extension. Click Ok. now you will see something like this. (Always make sure your socks4 proxy is working before using !)

Now that’s all. you are done. now go to iexplorer.exe and launch it (run Internet explorer) you will notice that proxifier will show the Iexplorer in its window. that means its proxified now.

Now go to www.whatsmyip.org and you will see that your IP is hidden and this socks4 is used. that means you are anonymous and can bypass filters and access restricted sites without any problem.

A Word of warning : Don’t do any illegal activities using this method. its not safe with using public socks. if you want to have your own private socks its a good idea to install them on a server using SSH & putty. i will write a tutorial on this later.
